The FEEL, FELT, FOUND Formula
“I know how you feel.”
You’re letting the other person know you heard them. You understand. And you can relate to their emotion.
“I felt the same way.”
This phrase lets them know that it’s not unusual to feel the way they do. It validates their feelings when other people have felt the same.
“Here’s what I found …”
When I did what I’m asking you to do, it worked.
The feel, felt, found formula works well to overcome objections. Only use this with a pleasant and friendly tone. A little empathy goes a long way.
